MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Four years of administrative staff or professional work.
Notes:
- Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience.
- Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
- Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
- Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for- year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Six years of experience in public information, public relations, journalism, or other related experience in publicity or promotional work
- Ability to travel throughout the State of Maryland to attend public events with Comptroller
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach are essential, as this role requires direct interaction with the public and stakeholders through digital platforms
- Experience with social media management and developing social media content for multiple platforms
- Copywriting/writing skills for social media and promotional materials creation
- Experience with infographics and video design (Adobe, Canva, InDesign)
- Experience analyzing social media data and analytics for trends and to develop strategies to increase engagement and reach
- Experience managing high-level government or corporate social media accounts including planning, implementing strategic campaigns, and overseeing paid social media advertising
- Demonstrated ability to engage positively and professionally with the public across various platforms, with a strong background in customer service
