Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this full-time contractual position will be to coordinate logistics for the Population Health, Innovation, and Informatics Unit, which consists of meeting set up, taking meeting minutes, conducting follow-up activities, and documenting and implementing action steps when appropriate. This position requires the onboarding of digital processes including but not limited to MyGarrettCounty.com, GarrettGuide.com, GoGarrettCounty.com, GoGarrettCountyPlus.com, and GarrettCountyFood.com. This position requires a high level of community engagement at events, community classes, and agency meetings. This role helps to implement healthy lifestyle programs by managing prize shops and participation points. This position will help implement the planning processes necessary for the fulfillment of duties within the unit and work closely with community members and agency partners, utilizing a high level of dignity for community engagement at events, community classes, and meetings. This position will also work within the ENOUGH initiative, helping to reduce childhood poverty, Bridging Appalachian Systems Equitably for increased food and nutrition security, and additional funding applications. General duties also include reporting, data collection and analysis, outreach, and academic detailing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: One year of administrative staff or professional work in a health care setting.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for the required experience.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess the following:
  • Experience with program implementation
  • Experience with grant reporting
  • An Associate's Degree

SELECTION PROCESS

Candidates may remain on the certified eligible list for a period of at least one year. The resulting certified eligible list for this recruitment may be used for similar positions in this or other State agencies.

BENEFITS

Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.

Leave may be granted to a contractual employee who has worked 120 days in a 12 month period. This leave accrues at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.
