POSITION DUTIES
A Commitment Records Specialist Supervisor is the
supervisory level of work reviewing, verifying and interpreting information in
order to make determinations and resolve problems involving the calculation of
adult inmate prison sentences in accordance with State Laws and the relations
and policies of the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services. This
position ensures the proper terms of confinement and release date of inmates in
accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Employees in this
classification supervise lower-level Commitment Records Specialist positions.
Employees are subject to call-in 24 hours a day.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high
school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Three years of experience in reviewing,
verifying, and interpreting information in order to make determinations and
resolve problems involving the calculation of prison sentences in accordance
with applicable laws, and the regulations and policies of the Department of
Public Safety and Correctional Services. One year of this experience must be in
leading the work of Commitment Records staff.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
One
year of experience leading the work of Commitment Records Staff.

contractual and regular Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional
Services (DPSCS) employees only.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Employees in this classification are subject to call-in 24 hours a day and may be required to provide the employing agency with a telephone number where the employee can be reached.

· Personal Leave - new State employees are awarded six (6) personnel days annually (prorated based on start date)· Sick Leave - fifteen (15) days of accumulated sick leave per year
