The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) is seeking dedicated candidates to fill important roles within our department. POSITION DUTIES
Commitment Records Specialist
Manager is the managerial level of work reviewing, verifying and interpreting
information in order to make determinations and resolve problems involving the
calculation of adult Incarcerated Individuals sentences in accordance with
state laws and the regulations and policies of the Department of Public Safety
and Correctional Services. This position ensures the accurate calculations for
the terms of confinement and release dates of Incarcerated Individuals in
accordance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
Commitment Records Specialist Manager directly supervises Commitment Records
Specialist Supervisors. Commitment Records Specialist Managers are subject to
call-in 24 hours a day.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school
equivalency certificate.
Experience: Four years of
experience in reviewing, verifying and interpreting information in order to
make determinations and resolve problems involving the calculation of prison
sentences in accordance with applicable laws, and the regulations and policies
of the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services. Two years of this
experience must be in supervising the work of Commitment Records staff.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Three years of experience
calculating the sentences of Incarcerated Individuals
Two years of experience working
as an employee in a 24-hour operation.
LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Employees in this classification are subject to call-in 24 hours a day and may be required to provide the employing agency with a telephone number where the employee may be reached.

· Personal Leave - new State employees are awarded six (6) personnel days annually (prorated based on start date)· Sick Leave - fifteen (15) days of accumulated sick leave per year
