POSITION DUTIES
- Lead, guide, and provide technical assistance as the Maryland Federal Reporting Coordinator for the EdFacts Program.
- Develop a project plan for submitting nearly 100 federal data files per year.
- Ensure data accuracy and work with MSDE program offices to correct anomalies.
- Attend U.S. Department of Education meetings as the designated EdFacts Coordinator.
- Oversee data collection from local education education agencies (LEAs).
- Identify training needs for the Division and LEA staff related to federal reporting.
- Manage databases and applications used in data collection from LEAs.
- Extracts data from MSDE applications, data warehouse, and operational data stores.
- Organize, clean, validate and assure quality of acquired data.
- Develop and implement reporting practices and standards in alignment with federal and state requirements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A Master’s degree or the equivalent of 36 credit hours of post-baccalaureate coursework from an accredited college or university.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.
- Experience providing technical assistance related to the collection of education related data.
- Experience with EdFacts reporting.
- Proficiency in computer-based statistical programs.
- Experience with educational accountability programs.
- Experience creating and managing data collection systems.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must consent to a State Police Investigation (fingerprinting) as a routine procedure for all employees with this Agency.
