Main Purpose of Job

The Deputy Health Officer, Operations is responsible for directing, managing and supervising the day-to-day operations of the Carroll County Health Department and major programs under the direction of the Health Officer.  This position also oversees Strategic Planning, Workforce Development, Health Equity, Quality Improvement, and PHAB Accreditation processes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Business Administration or other closely related field.

Experience: Five years professional experience in health services, human services, or business administration.

Note: Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health or Business Administration, and seven years of professional experience in health services, including six years in management for possession of a Master's degree.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess experience in the following:
  • Strategic Planning, Workforce Development Planning and implementation, oversight and measurement of such plans
  • Identifying, implementing, overseeing and tracking Performance Improvement/Quality Improvement projects and initiatives
  • Data management and data-driven decision-making

SELECTION PROCESS

This is a Management Service position and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority. A Resume must accompany your application.
