Main Purpose of Job

The Senior Automation and Process Improvement Manager is a critical leadership role responsible for spearheading automation initiatives and optimizing organizational processes within MDTHINK. The main purpose of this position is to enhance operational efficiency, accelerate deployment cycles, and improve the overall scalability and reliability of MDTHINK's technology platforms, including Salesforce implementations and future strategic projects. The position entails refining and standardizing organizational processes and documentation. This includes implementing Agile methodologies and Lean process improvement techniques to streamline workflows, eliminate redundancies, and enhance productivity.

Aligning with MDTHINK's mission to modernize and integrate Maryland's health and human services systems, this position plays a pivotal role in facilitating seamless data sharing and interoperability across agencies. By enhancing automation and optimizing processes, the Senior Automation and Process Improvement Manager directly contributes to the creation of a unified, efficient, and responsive technology infrastructure. This infrastructure is essential for delivering holistic and accessible services to Maryland residents, improving user experiences, and driving innovation in public service delivery.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering.

Experience:  Three years of experience with Cloud Platforms.

Note:  Candidates may substitute additional experience with Cloud Platforms on a year-for-year basis for the required education

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Three years of experience AWS, Azure, Salesforce or Google Cloud for automated infrastructure management.

Three years of experience implementing Agile methodologies to optimize IT workflows and eliminate inefficiencies.

One year experience of Quality Assurance: Ensuring that deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations through regular reviews and testing processes.

BENEFITS

Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.

Leave may be granted to a contractual employee who has worked 120 days in a 12 month period. This leave accrues at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.
