The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) is seeking dedicated candidates to fill important roles within our department. This is a SPECIAL APPOINTMENT position with the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services. The incumbent serves at the pleasure of the appointing authority.

POSITION DUTIES

Provide audio-visual and technical support for the operational needs of the PSETC, as well as graphic design, media communications, photography/videography service and oversight and management of the print shop.
Provide audio-visual and technical support to classrooms within PSETC, including set up and instruction for use by training staff.
Provide graphic design and media communications support to PCTC operational and training units, plus produce content for media platforms.
Manage and provide print shop services, including equipment, supplies, service repairs and vendor contract.
Provide photographic and video services to PCTC and Resident Partner Agencies as needed and upon request.
Provide audio-visual, graphic and communications support for special events for various public safety agencies and associations upon request, which may include travel within the state of Maryland.
Inventory and control of non-IT related property, including management and reconciliation of equipment and preparation of necessary documents for surplus property and disposal processes.
Prepare procurement requests for replacement equipment, repairs or services as needed.
Serve as Agency Telecom Coordinator, maintaining inventory records for issued telecom equipment and serve as liaison between agency staff and ITCD telecom unit for equipment requests, returns and repairs.
Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Two years of experience performing audio-visual and/or electronics technical support. General support, maintenance and installation of equipment such as LCD projectors, network printers/copiers, sound systems, video/cameras and general electronic devices.
Notes:
1. Additional experience in administrative or professional work may be substituted on a year­ for-year basis for the required education.
2. Additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester credit hours on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must meet the selective qualification(s) to be considered. Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

Academic course work in photography and/or videography or two years’ photography experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

One year of experience in live streaming audio and video, in addition to hosting podcasts.

Academic coursework or one year of experience in graphic design.

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

· Personal Leave - new State employees are awarded six (6) personnel days annually (prorated based on start date)
