The
fundamental reason that this position exists is to provide support to the
Airport Safety and Security Department and the Airport Chief of Safety and
Security (Police). Primary duties center on providing ID credentials to
employees and tenants. The essential functions of this classification include
processing applications, fingerprinting, reviewing background checks, employee
vetting and issuance of Airport ID badges. This position is also responsible
for providing continual training to Sponsors, maintaining accurate files, and
auditing badges for compliance with TSA directives. The employee reports to the
Safety and Security Manager (Police Chief). The work is performed with
considerable independence and is reviewed through meetings, status reports and
from results obtained
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Public
Administration or a related field OR one (1) year of airport security/access
program experience.
NOTE: Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
Must
pass a criminal history background check, must obtain a valid Alabama state
driver's license within (30) days of employment, and must pass a
fingerprint-based Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) as required by TSA.
Employees must be willing to make frequent
trips to outside locations, work evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary
and be required to maintain an on-call status with the ability to respond in a
timely manner.
