The
fundamental reason this position exists is to perform administrative and
operational duties in overseeing the daily operations of the City’s public
works departments. The employee is responsible for all public works matters and
serves as a liaison to other City departments, outside government agencies, and
the community. The work responsibilities are: oversees activities of the public
works departments; conducts department wide duties; develops short and long
range plans; receives and handles complaints and requests from the public;
works on special projects, events, and programs; and supervises employees. This
position reports directly to the Chief Operations Officer.
Bachelor’s degree in business, civil
engineering, public administration, or a related field and five (5) years of
public works managerial experience to include civil engineering and policy and
procedure administration.
