The
fundamental reason that this classification exists is to plan, develop and
organize community organizations and city departments with related city
services in activities related to promoting a sustainable and clean
environment. The Coordinator works to
promote citizen involvement in environmental issues and serves as a liaison
between the City, nonprofit agencies, private companies, and citizen and
neighborhood groups. The major responsibilities for this classification
include administering and monitoring grant projects/contracts, networking,
developing events and programs, developing, and providing resources for
volunteer groups, and performing related plan implementation and administrative
tasks. This classification reports to the Director of Public Works.
Bachelor’s
Degree in Arts, Marketing, Business or Public Administration or related field
and three (3) or more years nonprofit fundraising to include experience on a
board of directors, either as an executive director, or in another board role,
plus one (1) or more years working with an executive board and staff to ensure
that the mission is fulfilled through programs and services, strategic planning
and community outreach.

that provide the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job
will be considered.
