This is supervisory work over the Purchasing Office and Warehousing in the Purchasing Division. This work includes overseeing all purchasing operations involved in the processing of purchase requisitions, competitive bidding process, and surplus sales. The incumbent serves as the administrative supervisor for warehousing personnel and purchasing warehouse operations. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Finance Director. The employee in this position exercises independent judgment with the latitude afforded by prescribed division and state bid law policies and procedures.
Must have graduated from a four-year college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a closely-related field. Must have at least five (5) years’ experience in governmental buying/purchasing including at least one year (1) of supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
NOTE: Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
Must be willing to be on-call 24 hours per day in the event of emergencies requiring support from the Purchasing Warehouse.
