The
fundamental reason this classification exists is to perform technician
engineering work inspecting construction of new developments or public works
projects. The work responsibilities are: review construction site plans and make
on-site inspections of developers' sites and various other engineering structures;
correspond with various consultants and design engineers; assist citizens in
resolving their complaints against the city; and coordinate with utility
companies and State agencies. The
employee will work under the direct supervision of a higher-level Engineering Technician,
Civil Engineer, or Professional Engineer.
High school
diploma or a GED and three years of technical engineering experience in the
area of traffic, public works, planning, and/or transportation.
NOTE: Qualifying education, training, and
experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to
perform the job will be considered.
