The fundamental
reason this classification exists is to perform technician engineering work
inspecting construction of new development or public works projects. Work
involves the supervision of one employee.
The work responsibilities are: reviews construction site plans and makes
on-site inspections of developers' sites and various other engineering
structures; corresponds with various consultants and design engineers; assists
citizens to resolve their complaints against the city; coordinates with utility
companies and State agencies; and supervises and inspects work of
employees. The employee reports directly
to the City Engineer.
High school
diploma or a GED and at least five (5) years of engineering experience to include
reviewing construction site plans and the inspection of construction sites.
NOTE: Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
