Nature of Work

This is skilled technical work in the field and office.  Employees in this class represent senior para-professional positions in the design, construction, renovation, inspection and maintenance of municipal facilities and building projects.  Familiar assignments are received with general instructions.  More complex assignments are performed under the supervision of the City Engineer. Supervises assigned subordinates.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or GED.  Three (3) years’ experience in design or review of building plans for quality, soundness and standards compliance such as would be found in governmental plans review agency or large construction contractor. Experience in building construction including five years of on-site experience as general superintendent or project manager.

NOTE:  Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.

 



Special Requirements

Employee has to possess and maintain an Alabama Driver's License.
