The
fundamental reason this classification exists is to direct and administer the
City’s land use control element and to serve as executive secretary to the
Planning Commission, the Board of Adjustment, Architectural Review Board and
the Historical Development Commission. The work responsibilities of this classification
are: supervises the work of support staff in the day-to-day operations of the
Land Use Control Division; provides advice and assistance to individuals and
groups in understanding and administering zoning ordinances and subdivision
regulations using land use plans and the text documentation of the zoning
ordinance; directs the preparation of the divisional budget and oversees
expenditures; supervises the enforcement of City Land Use Control Ordinances
and Regulations; and assists in the development of the comprehensive Land Use
Plan. Work is performed under the direction of the City Development Director.
Graduation
from an accredited college or university with a Degree in Planning, Urban
Planning, Public Administration, Geography or a related field
plus
five years of municipal planning and land use development experience including
two years of supervisory experience.

Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite
knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
