The fundamental reason this
classification exists is to provide support to the Planning Commission and the
Board of Adjustment through zoning and development plan application review.
Work responsibilities include: processing applications for the Planning
Commission and the Board of Adjustment review; performing technical zoning
duties; and communicating with the developers and citizens and performing other
duties as needed. Employees report directly to the Building Plans Coordinator
or the Land Use Coordinator.
Bachelor’s degree in planning,
geography, public administration, business administration or a closely related
field, and two (2) years of experience working with city zoning and/or
city-wide property development.
NOTE:
Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite
knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
Certification from the International Code
Council (ICC) in Code Enforcement or Permit Technician within the first two (2)
years of employment into the classification.
