The fundamental reason this position exists is
to manage projects for building maintenance, construction, and renovation. The
work responsibilities of this classification include: evaluating construction,
maintenance, upgrades and renovation projects; working with city department
representatives for space planning and design; communicating with the Director
of Building Maintenance, General Services Director and supervisor; serving as a
liaison between city government and contractors or home and land owners; performing
quality control inspections; monitoring and processing work orders and request;
coordinating project efforts and resources; recommending processes, supplies
and human resource efforts; documenting project processes using computer and
files; and performing surplus property duties as needed. This classification reports
to the General Services Director.
Must have five (5) years of
experience in construction trades work to include managing building
construction, renovation, and maintenance projects for commercial or
residential structures.
NOTE: Qualifying education, training and experience
that provide the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job
will be considered.
Must be available to work overtime and weekends as
needed. Must have and maintain a valid
Alabama Driver's License.
