This
is semi-skilled plumbing work including assisting in installing, repairing and
maintaining water, irrigation and waste systems in and on various City-owned or
leased properties. Employees in this
class perform a variety of tasks requiring a practical knowledge of the
plumbing trade. Assignments are made by
written or oral instructions. More
difficult work is performed under supervision, but employees may work
independently on more routine maintenance and repair tasks. The work responsibilities
of this position are: troubleshooting and repairing plumbing or irrigation
fixtures; assisting in installing new plumbing or irrigation in new
construction and renovation projects; replacing/installing new plumbing or
irrigation fixtures; assisting in maintaining city fountains, swimming pools
and irrigation systems. Work is
inspected in process and upon completion for workmanship and satisfactory
operation of systems. Supervision is
received from a Plumber II or III. Employee reports to Mechanical Trades
Supervisor or District Parks Maintenance Supervisor.
