The fundamental reason this
position exists is to perform interior and exterior paint tasks on commercial
buildings and structures for the City of Montgomery. The work responsibilities
of the position are: evaluates paint needs and prepares to paint surfaces;
applies finishes such as paint to surfaces; maintains all equipment, tools, and
work areas; in the absence of the paint supervisor, supervises personnel; performs
administrative related duties; and contributes to department objectives. The
Painter receives supervision from the Paint Crew Foreman.
Must have two (2) years of experience performing skilled
painting tasks.
NOTE: Qualifying education,
training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be
considered.
Ability
to obtain and maintain a valid Alabama driver’s license as needed to operate a
motor vehicle to perform painting tasks at various locations with the City and
County of Montgomery. Ability to work
flexible hours, evenings, nights and weekends as needed to complete
projects. Ability to work in a variety
of weather conditions with exposure to the elements.
