The
fundamental reason this position exists is to supervise the work of City paint
crews. Duties and responsibilities include evaluating customer painting
needs and preparing to paint, planning, organizing, and directing the work of
paint crews, and performing administrative duties. The Paint Crew Foreman
receives direct supervision from the Maintenance Shop Supervisor.
High school diploma or G.E.D. Four years painting experience to include at least two years of experience at the journeyman level and one-year supervisory experience.
NOTE: Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
Must have and maintain a valid Alabama driver’s license in order to drive city vehicle to oversee and participate in various painting projects of City facilities. Physical ability to pick up and move paints and equipment weighing at least fifty pounds. Physical ability to climb a ladder or scaffold and work to over 100 feet off the ground. Physical ability to walk, stoop, and stand for several hours at a time. Physical ability to distinguish among various paint colors. Physical ability to work indoors and outdoors for long periods of time, working in small confined areas, and high or low areas for extended periods of time. Ability to drive city vehicles as needed to pick up paints and supplies and to travel to City facilities.
