The
fundamental reason this position exists is to fabricate and repair a variety of
upholstered items. The Upholsterer’s assignments originate in the form of work
orders. Incumbents are responsible for
the selection of materials, determination of work methods, and completing the
finished job with minimum supervision. Work is reviewed through inspection of
quality or workmanship on the finished assignment. The work responsibilities of
the position are: evaluates customer upholstery needs and prepares upholstery
work, fabricates and repairs upholstered items, serves as a lead worker, and
performs administrative related duties. The Upholsterer is supervised by the
Maintenance Shop Supervisor.
Two years’
experience performing skilled upholstery tasks.
NOTE: Qualifying
education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills
and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
Ability
to obtain and maintain a valid Alabama driver's license. Ability to work nights, weekends, and
holidays as needed for emergencies and/or special events.
