Nature of Work

The fundamental reason this position exists is to oversee and participate in completing tree cutting and pruning projects throughout the City.  The work responsibilities of the position are:  oversees and performs tree maintenance; plans, organizes, and directs the work of the tree crew; and performs administrative duties.  The Tree Crew Foreman is supervised by the Property Maintenance Supervisor.   

Minimum Qualifications

Three (3) years of experience pruning and cutting trees to include one year of lead worker experience.

NOTE:  Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.

  

Special Requirements

Must have a CDL license, Class A endorsement as needed to operate a Limb Loader truck, bucket truck, and dump truck.  Must have and maintain a valid Alabama driver’s license in order to drive city vehicle to oversee and participate in various tree trimming/pruning projects throughout the City.  Must be willing to work during emergency situations and must be on-call bi-weekly.
