The
fundamental reason this position exists is to coordinate and implement arts
programs of the Arts Council of Montgomery and the Armory Learning Arts Center
of the City of Montgomery. The work
responsibilities are: works with the
Arts Council of Montgomery; coordinates classes for the Armory Learning Arts
Center; performs financial duties; develops logos, brochures, and written material,
manages the Art Gallery, and develops and implements fund-raising plans. Supervision is received from the Arts Program
Manager.
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university with major course work in arts, studio art, recreation, or related degree and one year of experience in planning, developing, and programming arts events. Experience may substitute for the required degree on a year-for-year basis.
NOTE: Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
Must be available and willing to work odd hours to include weekends as needed to attend activities sponsored by the Arts Council of Montgomery and the Armory Learning Arts Center. Must have a valid Alabama driver’s license as needed to drive City vehicle.
