The fundamental reason this
classification exists is to safely operate passenger vans and buses for
the purpose of transporting citizens to various locations throughout the City
of Montgomery. Employees in the class
are responsible for the safe and efficient operations of light to heavy
transportation vehicles. The work
responsibilities are: drives vehicles, including buses and large passenger
vans; and inspects vehicles daily prior to departure. Work is performed under general supervision
of the Recreation Area Supervisor.
Six months of experience in the
operation of large capacity passenger transport vehicles. Experience operating a commercial motor
vehicle to transport senior citizens is preferred.
NOTE:
Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite
knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
Must
be willing to work evenings, weekends and special events as needed. Employment is conditioned upon applicants
having and maintaining a commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a passenger endorsement in accordance with
the provisions of the Commercial Motor Vehicle Safety Act of 1986 and providing
a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) from the department of Public Safety as proof of
an insurable driving record.
