This is professional and technical work handling,
housing, and installing works of art in the Museum’s collection or on loan. The
Assistant Preparator is a member of the Museum’s curatorial department, and
works cooperatively with the curators and registrars under the direct
supervision of the Preparator/Designer.
High School Diploma or GED and six (6) months of rough or
finished carpentry or woodworking experience.
NOTE: Qualifying
education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills
and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
Must possess a valid Alabama driver’s license as
needed to pick up parts from local vendors and transport works of art. May work overtime, weekends, and holidays.
May require out-of-town and out-of-State overnight courier travel.
