The
fundamental reason this classification exists is to perform supervisory work,
assisting in the management of zoo retail operations, including the gift shop
and admission programs. The employee in
this class assists the Zoo Retail Manager in planning and directing all retail
operations at the City of Montgomery
Zoo. The work
responsibilities of this classification are: assists with managing and
coordinating operational activities; supervise employees in the zoo retail
operations; and prepares and maintains daily reports. General supervision is received from the Zoo
Retail Manager.
High school
diploma or GED. Two (2) years of experience in
a retail sales operations such as, merchandise, gift, or souvenir shops, to
include at least one (1) year of experience supervising retail sales staff.
NOTE:
Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite
knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
Must
be willing to work weekends, holidays and special events.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES: Must be able
to lift up to 50 pounds when receiving, inspecting and storing merchandise.
