The purpose for this classification is to plan, direct and supervise the maintenance, and landscaping operations of the Zoo. The essential functions of this classification include: making daily inspection rounds; performing maintenance work; supervising maintenance personnel; managing and assisting in special event setup; developing procedures for safety inspections; preparing budget information; and maintaining relations and coordinating work with other city departments and outside contractual services. The Maintenance and Construction Supervisor receives direction from the Deputy Zoo Director and Zoo Director.
Must be willing to work weekends and odd hours for special events and/or emergency situations at the Zoo. Must be willing to work in adverse weather conditions including cold, heat and rain. Must test TB-negative.
