The fundamental reason this
classification exists is to perform participatory recreation work. Employees oversee the use of a recreation
facility to include maintenance, scheduling, and documenting/reporting. The
primary work responsibilities of this position are: performs reporting duties; monitors
the facility; performs administrative duties; serves as a liaison between the
school’s principal; oversees recreation programs and activities in the
facility; completes department forms, reports and records; completes reports
for federally funded summer food service programs; plans
and schedules seasonal programs by estimation; actively leads recreation
programs as needed; oversees/supervises rec aides and volunteers; and designs
flyers, brochures and calendars of events. The employee reports directly to the Recreation Area
Supervisor.
High school diploma or GED and two (2) years
of experience overseeing facilities and leading recreational programs.
NOTE: Qualifying education,
training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and
abilities to perform the job will be considered.
