Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.
**A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and MCCP Board Rules & Regulations**
The
fundamental reason this classification exists is to protect property, visitors,
and employees while enforcing security rules and regulations. Primary work responsibilities may include: patrolling
buildings, structures, and/or grounds; utilizing surveillance equipment to
observe staff, patrons, and other visitors; investigating and taking
appropriate action when alarms are activated or unusual situations occur;
completing and submitting work orders; and interacting with patrons, visitors,
and staff members. The employee works
under the direction of the Street Construction Superintendent.
High
school diploma or GED and six months experience in security work, protecting
persons and property.
NOTE: Qualifying education, training,
and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to
perform the job will be considered.
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license
and an insurable driving record. Work requires rotating shift work, nights, weekends, special events, and
holidays. Must be willing to work
outside as needed to perform security duties.
