The fundamental reason
this position exists is to bridge the gap between the City of Montgomery Police
Department and the community, fostering positive relationships and promoting
effective communication and collaboration by planning, developing,
coordinating, and implementing a variety of community programs, and special
events for the City of Montgomery Police Department, assisting in addressing
community-policing issues. Responsibilities include identifying and building
relationships with community groups and leaders, faith-based entities, and
advocacy groups; data collection and analysis, public education, program
coordination, and community outreach. This classification reports to and receives
general instructions from the Community
Policing Supervisor.
A
bachelor's degree in criminal justice, psychology, sociology, social work, or a
related discipline and one year of responsible experience in community
engagement and developing, administering, and implementing community-based
programs, neighborhood/community assistance, or community programs or events.
NOTE: Qualifying
education, training, and experience that provide the requisite knowledge,
skills, and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
