The
fundamental reason this position exists is to supervise the proper acquisition,
receipt, storage, distribution, or issuance of leather goods and office
supplies. Work involves making decisions
concerning stocking, storing, and securing evidence, found property and
property belonging to inmates to include properly handling evidence and
disposing of unclaimed property and evidence. The work responsibilities of the
job are: oversees the maintenance of
records and files; oversees and directs the proper handling; storage and
disposal of found property and evidence, responding to inquiries regarding
found property or evidence; plans and oversees the acquisition, receipt,
storage, and proper issuance of leather goods and office supplies; oversees the
print shop functions; supervises two or more employees; and oversees and
coordinates department requests for building maintenance supplies. Work is
performed under the general supervision and direction of the designated sworn
officer in the Administrative Division.
High school diploma or GED equivalent, and at least three years of
experience in law enforcement evidence collection and processing, including
proper disposal of unclaimed property and proper handling of evidence.
NOTE:
Qualifying education, training, and experience that provide the
requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform
the job will be considered.
Employment is conditioned upon applicants
acquiring and maintaining a valid Alabama driver's license and providing a
Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) from the Department of Public Safety as proof of an
insurable driving record.
