The fundamental reason this job exists is to oversee the jail operations in order to ensure the safety, health, and welfare of inmates, provide for jail maintenance and security, and comply with city, state, and federal regulations, laws, and procedures regarding the incarceration and care of inmates. The Municipal Jail Corrections Lieutenant supervises the Municipal Jail Corrections Sergeants and Police Nurses. Supervision is provided by the Municipal Jail Warden or an assigned Montgomery Police Department Captain or Major.
Must have at least two years’ experience as a Municipal Jail Corrections Sergeant (shift supervisor) in the Montgomery City Jail. (PROMOTIONAL)
