Nature of Work

The fundamental reason this job exists is to oversee the jail operations in order to ensure the safety, health, and welfare of inmates, provide for jail maintenance and security, and comply with city, state, and federal regulations, laws, and procedures regarding the incarceration and care of inmates. The Assistant Warden supervises the Municipal Jail Corrections Sergeants and Police Nurses. Supervision is provided by the Municipal Jail Warden or an assigned Montgomery Police Department Captain or Major.

Minimum Qualifications

Must have at least two years' experience as a Municipal Jail Corrections Sergeant in the Montgomery City Jail. 

NOTE:    Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
