The fundamental reason this
classification exists is to direct the financial management of a department. Major work responsibilities include managing
accounts receivable and payable for the department, preparing financial and/or
accounting reports, managing accounting records and data, establishing
financial controls, assisting with a variety of financial management functions,
and supervising two or more employees. The
incumbent works under the supervision of the Chief Clerk or Judge of Probate;
or a department head.
Bachelor’s
degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or public administration
and four years of professional accounting or auditing experience at a senior
level. Master’s degree preferred.
NOTE: Qualifying education, training and experience that provide
the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be
considered.
