The fundamental reason this classification exists is to assist analysts and the department by performing a variety of activities related to job analysis, test development and administration, and classification. Primary work responsibilities include managing multiple projects, studying individual jobs and classifications, analyzing and documenting the results of studies, developing low complexity and routine content valid selection procedures, administering selection procedures, and aiding the work of analysts and the department by performing a variety of personnel activities related to customer service, pay plan maintenance, salary surveys, reporting, recruiting, teamwork, and personal development. The Personnel Associate differs from personnel analysts in that the associate’s projects are less complex in nature. Associates also provide aid to other analysts and work under closer supervision with less autonomy. Supervision is received from a Senior Personnel Analyst.
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or closely related field. Other related degrees may be acceptable with two years of human resources experience. Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
Ability to work overtime at night, holidays and weekends as needed to administer tests or meet deadlines. Valid Alabama driver's license as needed to travel to remote job/test sites.
