Salary Information

Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.

**A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and MCCP Board Rules & Regulations**

Nature of Work

This is advanced professional casework in the Youth Facility Family Court. Employees in this class are responsible for screening and supervising delinquent youth coming under the jurisdiction of the Court. Established methods are used to rehabilitate delinquent youth and to equip them as useful members of the community. Work is usually received in the form of cases assigned by the Court; employees have considerable latitude in planning treatment of cases. Employees may act as lead workers for new employees, interns, or volunteers as assigned. Supervision is received from the Chief Probation Officer and Juvenile Probation Supervisor through conferences and reviews of results obtained.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a behavioral science field such as sociology, psychology, law enforcement, criminal justice, corrections, counseling, or social work and at least five (5) years of experience as a Juvenile Probation Officer

NOTE: Qualifying education, training, and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
