The
fundamental reason this position exists is to manage the Montgomery County Juvenile
Detention Facility. The primary work responsibilities include directing
operations and programs, preparing budgets, performing administrative duties
such as purchasing and contract administration, overseeing the security of the
facility, and supervising youth facility and food services staff. The work is
performed under the general supervision of the County Administrator.
Graduation
from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in sociology,
psychology, criminal justice, law, educational psychology, social work,
business or public administration or equivalent behavioral or social science
with five (5) years management and administrative experience in detention,
treatment, or rehabilitation to include budgeting, purchasing, and policy
administration. Preference will be given to those applicants with a related Master’s
Degree.
NOTE: Qualifying
education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills,
and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
