Nature of Work

This is skilled recreation work in directing a wide variety of activities. Plans, coordinates and directs recreation aides, team managers and players in carrying out recreation activities according to department rules, regulations and guidelines. Supervises full and part-time Recreation Aides at various sites in Montgomery County. Maintains a County Recreation Center and various recreation sites. The employee reports directly to the Parks and Recreation Director.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of recreational experience overseeing facilities and/or leading recreational programs; OR a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation or a closely related field.

NOTE: Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.

Special Requirements

Must provide a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) from the Department of Public Safety as proof of an insurable driving record.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be willing to work nights and weekends.
