The fundamental reason this class exists is to
provide a full range of psychological services including diagnostic testing,
evaluation, treatment and referral of clients of the Montgomery County Juvenile
Court. Work responsibilities include
evaluating and documenting the mental and emotional status of adults, children
and adolescents; providing treatment and referrals; coordinating psychological
services with other social, medical and legal agencies; developing and
implementing crisis intervention programs; and supervising a Court Therapist
I. General supervision is received from the
Chief Probation Officer.
Master’s Degree in psychology from an accredited
college or university, including or supplemented by three (3) years of
supervised experience in clinical psychology or closely related field.
Must be currently licensed by the state of
Alabama as a
Psychologist or Licensed Professional Counselor.
NOTE: Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the
requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
Must be available to respond to emergencies at
night, on weekends and holidays as needed.
Must be willing to work in a maximum-security detention facility.
