The fundamental reason this classification
exists is to drive, operate and maintain the 2-ton fuel truck and animal
carcass disposal dump truck. Primary
work responsibilities are: drives and operates a 2-ton fuel truck; drives and
operates a 2-ton dump truck; performs routine maintenance on vehicles; and
contributes to the department objectives by accepting additional assignments
and performs additional duties. Employees in this classification report to the
Fleet Maintenance Superintendent.
High
school diploma or GED. At least six (6)
months experience in the operation of 2-ton fuel truck.
NOTE:
Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite
knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
Must possess and maintain a valid Alabama
Commercial Driver’s License, Class B with air brakes, hazardous material, and
tanker endorsements and an insurable driving record as needed to drive and
operate 2-ton trucks.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Exposed to explosive materials, hazardous chemicals,
dangerous fumes and strong odors.
Exposed to inclement weather conditions, animal carcasses and traffic
hazards.
