patrolling buildings and structures, ensuring that only authorized personnel

They are supervised by a Deputy Sheriff Sergeant and/or Lieutenant.
High school diploma or GED certificate and six (6) months of

buildings, operating monitoring/alarm equipment and acting as gatekeepers of

NOTE: Qualifying education, training and experience
that provide the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job
will be considered.
Incumbents need the physical ability to remain on their feet
and walk for moderate periods of time (i.e., walking up and down stairwells of 4-6
flights and around building grounds on a variable basis) over the course of a
two hour patrol period as needed to patrol the premises of County buildings
several times in one shift and to travel to sites where trouble has been
indicated. Patrols are conducted in all
types of weather and ground conditions.
They work rotating shifts (8 hour shifts/7 days a week). Due to the confidentiality involved with the
position, the incumbents must be willing to submit to background investigation.
