The fundamental reason
that this classification exists is to develop
multiple-tiered assessments and multiple choice tests and to assist the department
head in the supervision and management of the Personnel Board. The major work responsibilities for the
position include providing administrative and management support to the
Personnel Director; supervising employees; planning and managing complex job analysis, classification and testing
projects; conducting job analysis; designing selection procedures; and administering
and scoring assessment centers or other tests.
The incumbents are responsible for a wide variety of functions
requiring knowledge of policies and their application to unusual
situations. The incumbents make
decisions to develop procedures to solve problems, use independent judgment,
and exercise discretion in interpreting policies. The senior analyst differs
from the personnel analyst in that the senior analyst supervises, develops
multi-tiered assessments, and provides management support to the Personnel
Director. The classification is directly
supervised by the Personnel Director.
