The fundamental reason this classification exists is to oversee and supervise skilled and semi-skilled workers and work crews performing specialized maintenance of the Airport’s grounds and facilities. Employees in this class participate in and monitor the Airport’s runways, taxiways, runway lights, taxiway lights, parking aprons and hangars, automatic electric operated access gates, and the Airport’s electrical power generating equipment. The essential functions are: plans and implements schedule of maintenance projects; supervises the maintenance and repair of all lighting and electrical systems; plans, directs and schedules the work of employees; performs administrative related duties; and recommends an annual maintenance budget. General supervision is received from the Deputy Airport Director, but the employee will play a leadership role in identifying and correcting maintenance problems on the airfield, taking a hands-on approach as necessary.
Must have a High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent and at least five (5) years of airfield maintenance experience involving electrical circuits and equipment, including or supplemented by two (2) years of supervisory experience.
