Salary Information
Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.
**A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and MCCP Board Rules & Regulations**
Nature of Work
The fundamental reason this
position exists is to provide court security within the Montgomery Municipal
Court and to act as process servers. Employees in this classification are
responsible for conducting physical inspections of persons and items entering
the Municipal Court and restrain disruptive individuals within the Municipal
Court building as needed. These employees also serve criminal subpoenas
to witnesses and complainants and make arrests by serving capias warrants and
alias warrants upon defendants who have failed to appear before the Municipal
Court. The court security also performs specialized clerical duties of a
legal nature, including the maintenance of inmate and court records and data
entry work. Primary work responsibilities may include serving criminal
subpoenas; making arrests by serving capias warrants and alias warrants;
assisting with establishing proper order in courtroom before and during court
sessions; assisting other security in the scanning individuals entering the
building; assisting in maintaining order in the courtroom; performing clerical
and administrative duties; and monitoring the flow of City Jail inmates. Applicants must be RETIRED RSA EMPLOYEE'S desiring to return to service in a part-time professional position.
Minimum Qualifications
This position is open only to RETIRED RSA EMPLOYEES who are desiring to return to service in a part-time professional position. Must have and maintain certification as a law enforcement officer by the Alabama Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission (APOSTC).
