Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.
**A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and MCCP Board Rules & Regulations**
The
fundamental reasons this position exists are to perform project management
duties, conduct application development, assist with server and database
administration duties; and perform highly technical and analytical Geographic Information
System (GIS) work. The Senior GIS Analyst serves as a principal expert and lead
analyst for the GIS Division. The Senior GIS Analyst will perform highly
technical and analytical GIS work; and provide support, training, and technical
assistance to GIS users. The Senior GIS Analyst is distinguished from the GIS
Analyst in that the Senior GIS Analyst performs highly analytical work and is responsible
for some developer and administrator responsibilities, as well as providing
project management for GIS projects. The Senior GIS Analyst operates with
extensive independence and reports to the GIS Manager. The Senior GIS Analyst
operates with significant autonomy and reports to the GIS Manager or to
respective department heads across various departments.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s
degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Planning, Computer
Science, Engineering, or a closely-related field and three (3) years of
experience creating and analyzing spatial data, developing GIS application
solutions, and providing user support to include at least one (1) year of
project coordination/management and GIS applications development and
maintenance experience.
