Introduction
**THIS POSITION IS OPEN TO CURRENT CITY OF MILWAUKEE EMPLOYEES ONLY**
Purpose
Essential Functions
- Coordinate and process the timely and consistent data collection and recording of Lead Service Line (LSL) section work activities.
- Process paperwork for all service orders and/or contracts relating to the LSL replacement project.
- Report all progress of the LSL replacements within the guidelines set up by the department.
- Create and maintain database records of the LSL replacement program.
- Coordinate with contractors to ensure invoices are processed in compliance with the Safe Drinking Water Loan requirements.
- Schedule and track field assignments for LSL project staff.
- Serve as the primary information and technical contact for the LSL replacement project.
- Oversee, verify, and process all payments and invoices through the distribution section to the Milwaukee Water Works business section.
- Prepare LSL replacement project reports by established deadlines.
- Track and report non-responsive property owners to the Department of Neighborhood Services for compliance with the City’s ordinance on LSL line replacement.

Minimum Requirements
- Regular status as City of Milwaukee employee, having successfully completed a probationary period for a civil service position.
- Five years of office support experience related to this position.
- Valid State of Wisconsin driver’s license at time of appointment and throughout employment.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Knowledges, Skills, Abilities & Other Characteristics
- Knowledge of invoice and payment processing practices.
- Ability to interpret contract language.
- Knowledge of MWW distribution system and a general concept of water mains and water services.
- Oral communication skills to effectively communicate with other staff, city officials, members of the public and outside agencies.
- Written communication skills to prepare clear and concise written reports, correspondence, and other material.
- Organization skills to prepare and maintain accurate records.
- Ability to read construction plans, as-builts, GIS and water distribution maps.
- Ability to navigate databases and MWW customer information software.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and accuracy in preparing and entering information.
- Ability to utilize computer software, including Microsoft Access, Excel and Word.
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team with management and office support staff.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and time constraints to manage multiple assignments.
- Ability to be diplomatic and tactful when dealing with customers.
- Ability to remain professional at all times.

Selection Process
THE SELECTION PROCESS will be job related and will consist of one or more of the following: an evaluation of related education, experience and accomplishments, written tests, interview, or other assessment methods. The Department of Employee Relations and the Department of Public Works reserve the right to call only the most qualified candidates to oral, performance tests or personal interviews. Information from the selection process will be used to make a hiring decision. Selected candidates will be transferred and/or promoted to the position.
NOTE: Transfer/Promotional Opportunities and Promotional Examinations are not open to Milwaukee Public Schools employees or to the public. Only current City of Milwaukee employees and civilian personnel in MFD and MPD hired through a City Service Commission process and have successfully passed a probationary period for a Civil Service position will be considered. Individuals with exempt, provisional, temporary or emergency appointments are not eligible for transfer.
