Under immediate supervision, performs entry level structural engineering work in the design of steel, wood and reinforced concrete structures. May supervise sub-professional personnel.

- Assists in the design and preparation of structural plans and specifications.
- Reviews shop drawings for conformity with contract documents; prepares correspondence.
- Assists in preparation of cost estimates and design calculations for structural components of projects.
- Communicates with other staff members, contractors and vendors in regard to preparation of structural plans and review of shop drawings.
Typical office environment. May use standard office equipment and computer terminals.
Graduation from a four-year accredited college or university majoring in civil or structural engineering.
