General Statement

Under general supervision, provides technical audio-visual, multi-media, video and related technology support services for business meetings, conferences, training sessions or other live or recorded District events.

Essential Job Functions

  • Sets up, troubleshoots and maintains multi-media equipment such as video projectors, monitors, audio systems, video cameras, DVDs and videoconferencing equipment.
  • Ensures proper connectivity of equipment and computers to audio-visual systems for display.
  • Maintains, configures and updates the District’s video hardware and software components; sets up and supports all videoconference sessions, monthly seminars, workshops and meetings.
  • Assists with on-site support for all Board Meetings for video and audio-video streaming.
  • Assists with post-production and final delivery of video products that include study sessions, monthly seminars, and training sessions.
  • Assists with general video editing including evaluation and scenes selection, editing programs to specified lengths and assembling segments for maximum effect.
  • Assists with the support of all District point-to-point and multi-site videoconference sessions.
  • Maintains and updates the District’s streaming video servers and Board meeting audio recording system for podcasts via the MWRD website; assists in providing streaming video and audio end-user interface via the website.
  • Maintains related records and documentation (e.g. services rendered and standard operating procedures).
  • Performs duties assigned by supervisor or upon user request with supervisor’s approval.

Other Job Functions

  • Provides training to users on-site.
  • Provides after hours and weekend support when required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Environmental Conditions

Work is performed in a typical office environment and requires the use of standard office equipment including computers.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Considerable knowledge of network management and design.
  • Considerable knowledge of audio and video communications, display and recording equipment.
  • Skill in technical writing and documentation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Graduation from a four-year accredited college or university majoring in information technology, computer science or a closely related field.

Substitution

Professional experience directly related to audio-visual equipment set-up and use as described in the Essential Job Functions may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Promotional Requirement

  • Possession of a bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or a closely related field.
  • One year of service with the District as an IT Support Analyst II, IT Support Analyst I, System Support Specialist II, Administrative Assistant, Administrative Specialist, Human Resources Assistant, Secretary or Senior Administrative Specialist.
  • Civil service status in one of the foregoing classifications.
