MWRD's Internship Program offers paid internship positions. While the main focus is on wastewater management, there are opportunities to gain knowledge and practical experience in a wide range of functions in each department.
Paid Interns
Paid interns are limited to 119 working days per calendar year and receive $18.00 per hour.

Description:
The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District is seeking a Maintenance and Operations Intern. The Intern will be responsible for assisting the staff with general office duties including, but not limited to data entry into GIS program, Julie/digger tickets, preparing spreadsheets for Capital Asset Maintenance Plan inspections, and responding to resident's complaints. The intern will also assist with the field work for data collection, structure inspections, site investigations and observations. Critical skills required are the ability to read construction drawings, and working outside in heat. It is expected that the intern will gain a strong understanding of the District's sewer system.

Applicants must be a current undergraduate student seeking a degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Science.
